This series of utensil drawings was created using conte crayon on Rives BFK, and is part of my ongoing exploration of the creative process inherent in homemaking. I investigate the latent contradictions of “feminine work” by highlighting the simple and elegant brutality of the instrument in contrast with the Western cultural narrative of feminine qualities.
